Tera-Mai Reiki/Seichem energy goes to much deeper levels of a person’s being, where many illnesses have their origin, releasing blocked energies, cleansing the body of toxins and working to create a state of balance. It reinforces the recipient’s ability to make the necessary changes in attitude and life style to promote a happier and healthier life.

Being both powerful and gentle. In its long history of use, Tera-Mai Reiki/Seichem has aided healing in virtually every known illness and injury, including serious conditions like cancer and heart disease as well as everyday cuts, bruises, headaches, colds etc. Reiki can also be used to relieve stress, depression and lack of confidence, to help with bereavement and overcome unwanted habits.

A very simple, non-intrusive and extremely powerful process. The treatment lasts approximately 1 hour. After a full consultation, the recipient lies down, fully clothed on a treatment table (or sits on a chair if preferred). With soft, relaxing music playing in the background, the practitioner gently places his/her hands in various positions on or over the body, each position is held for a few minutes. There is no pressure, making it ideal for treating the very young, the elderly, pregnant women and those recovering from surgery.

A treatment creates a wonderful radiance that is deeply relaxing. You may feel heat or cold from the practitioner’s hands, a gentle pulsating coolness, an effervescent tingling or a cool gentle breeze. As the energy comes into balance, stress and tensions are released promoting a deep sense of well being. You may even fall asleep, which is quite a normal response!

Tera-Mai Reiki and Seichem can help us to move through the blockages that prevent our lives from flowing as they could. The energies, that are channelled through the practitioner, enhance our natural ability to heal ourselves.

It is important to understand that in itself it is not a ‘cure’ for all ills, but is an effective aid to holistic healing on all levels. 

Where did Reiki come from? and what is Seichem?  

A Brief History:  Reiki, pronounced in the West as ‘Ray-Key’, is a Japanese word meaning ‘Universal Spiritual or sacred energy’ This Universal energy (or Ki) surrounds and encompasses all living things and has been around forever. 

Mikoami Usui, a Japanese scholar re-discovered this healing energy, and how to channel it to others in the 1800’s.  He called it Reiki.  It was Dr Usui's quest to find out how Jesus and Buddha healed the sick.  During his long quest, Mikoami Usui studied the sacred scriptures of Japan, China, India, Tibet and also the teachings of Christ.   Finally the complete system of Reiki came to him during a 21 day fast and retreat on the holy mountain of Kuriyama where he had a life changing and mystical experience.  (NB The Healing energy itself is UNIVERSAL not Japanese, however the healing method (Ryoho) developed by Dr Usui is a Japanese type of healing system) Dr Usui initiated only 16 Reiki masters in his lifetime and entrusted one of these, Dr Chujiro Hayashi, to maintain the teachings after his death. 

The system of Reiki used today was brought to the west in the late 1930’s by Mrs Hawayo Takata who was trained and initiated as a Reiki master by Dr Chujiro Hayashi.   This system has been passed down from Master to student ever since by special initiation ceremonies, attunements and training, adhering strictly to the original principles taught by Mikoami Usui.

What we call Reiki today is the channelling of the earth element, and originally Seichem (pronounced Saykeem), which was
re-discovered in Egypt by Patrick Zeigler; consisted of the elements of Earth and Fire.   Kathleen Milner*, an internationally acclaimed healer and author of "Reiki & Other Rays of Touch Healing" and "Tera-Mai - My journey home" is the Founder of 
Tera-Mai™ which is now trademarked in order to maintain a consistent standard of attunements for the future.  Tera-Mai Seichem attunements pass on all four healing elements of Earth, Fire, Water and Air. It is these elemental, universal energies that healers, magicians and Shaman have worked with since the beginning of time.

*Originally trained in traditional (Alliance) Reiki, Kathleen Milner had a series of consciousness-raising experiences herself where  was shown updated initiation procedures by Buddha, with symbols for the Tera-Mai Reiki & Seichem attunements, which prove to be more suitable for the raised vibrational frequency of the times in which we live.  The proof that this is so resides in the consistent and dramatic healings that Tera-Mai initiates are able to facilitate.  

What's the Difference?

People often ask: "What's the difference? There's all these types of Reiki about and now there's Seichem! I don't understand." - Seichem is an advancement on conventional Reiki. It is not the final version, just a more developed one. There are an every-increasing number of different healing modalities and this is just one that has proved very effective for many people.

There is no 'right way' or 'only path'. We are faced with more and more choices so we have to differentiate and decide the most appropriate direction for us at any moment. There will always be teachers who can help us learn and remember but it is now up to us to discover, with discernment, what we can from whomever is appropriate. This means that we have to carry the responsibility for our own research, learning and advancement. The increase in the number of alternative therapies is a small manifestation of this, Reiki (and Seichem) a microcosm of that.

Is Reiki (or Seichem) a religion? Reiki-Seichem are incredible energies;  coming from the Universe, from the Divine or highest spiritual source.  They have their own intelligence and know exactly where the energies are required when a healing takes place.  They will heal the cause of the ‘problem’ on whatever level this may be, whether  mind, body or spirit.
As Tera-Mai^TM Reiki and Seichem is energy channelling, it has no association with any religion, faith or belief systems and can be received by anyone who is willing to be healed. 

How does it help? Reiki and Seichem can help us to move through the blockages that prevent our lives from flowing as they should.  The energies, that are channelled through the practitioner, enhance our natural ability to heal ourselves. 

Becoming a healing practitioner requires dedication and commitment so it is not something to be taken lightly. Providing they are not abused or misused the Universal Energies will stay with you for life.

Prospective students need to know before the class, that if they have previous initiations into other Reiki schools, those previous initiations will be cancelled out by the Tera-Mai attunement.    NB The majority of students are happy for this to happen, and see their previous initiations as stepping stones towards the Tera-Mai attunement.   if initiates give or receive any other Man-made initiations or use any other Reiki symbols after being attuned to Tera-Mai, the energy of Tera-Mai will dissipate and at some point, leave entirely.  NB Man-made initiations are not Universal and do not stand the test of time. There are three main stages that the student may progress through. The initial step is called “First Degree" The student
is attuned to the Tera-Mai Reiki & Seichem energy and is taught the various hand positions for administering treatments.

The “Second Degree” or Practitioner level, consists of a further attunement and the student is taught the symbols, their meanings and their uses. These symbols can then be used to increase and enhance the strength of the channelled energy, deal with mental and emotional issues and send Reiki healing across distances.

The final step can be split into two parts, the first part is “Third Degree” or “Advanced Training”. This includes an attunement and the Master symbol and it’s uses. The second part is the “Master/Teacher”. At this stage the student is instructed in the teaching methods and also trained in the giving of attunements and can begin to have students of their own. 

After each attunement there HAS to be a 21 day cleansing process which will be fully explained by your Reiki-Seichem Master.
